oh wait, it's just an empty space... must be why I like it so much!
In other news, some dude stencilled a picture of the Queen crying over this poster in the POW shop window. If it wasn't a Banksy stunt to draw more attention to the show, then I expect to see a "limited" edition of this print featuring the aforementioned stencil by the end of the week...
god I wish Don would fucking retire that queen stencil already and stop whoring himself on the street art circuit for pennies and concentrate on doing something with his unique letterstyles as they're perfectly good and strong enough to evolve further with.
Or print number 13, for the number of people who were murdered on that bus, print number 52 for the total murdered that day, print number 18, which was the age of the person who detonated the bomb. It all feels a bit distasteful really making a limited edition art print out of this, whatever the motives might be. I can't imagine why anyone would want this on their wall.
Doesn't really surprise me that Banksy (a.k.a the world's largest media whore) would use other people's suffering to whip up some publicity for this show. Money is all that counts nowadays in street art. All pretence of ethics or morals went out of the window a long time ago. I wonder what controversial gimmick he's got in store for the next show...a 'humorous' stencil of Baby P. perhaps?
It's pretty low trying to resell this for a profit. Some ghoulish people out there. Is this what it's come to?
ReplyDeleteyes, but then it's pretty ghoulish pushing a show off the back of this to
ReplyDeleteI have number 101 of 100 hanging on my wall
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. so inspiring

ReplyDeleteDon... Eine rip off merchant.
ReplyDeleteThat Don crying Queen is ripped from Gee Vaucher of Crass's crying Statue of Liberty
ReplyDeleteYeah, and it's not even relevant to anything, like why would the queen be crying about anything? As if she gives a fuck!
