Eelus at Wide Open Walls

what the fuck

  1. disappointed with this whole project. Broken Crow was the only one who put up worthy work on the wall in my opinion.
To quote 'WOW' on a facebook update: "I am just back from Kubuneh village, after taking a group of 10 journalists from the UK over there to see the art. They were all very impressed with the village and the art on the walls. Lets hope we get lots of good publicity from this!"

  2. the great white man must come and show the smiling piccaninny the error of his ways by instilling culture to banish their savage ways by the means of shoddy stencil art and media spectacle.

  3. Eelus is and always has been a terrible artist. He can't draw, and he can't paint and his ideas are shit. For me, he justs represents all that is crap with street art.

  4. Piss take of gargantuan proportions! No one from this project makes it out alive with any rep intact. Eelus needs to get strung up by his little bollocks and put a burning tyre round his neck. Underneath the facade of 'Inclusivity' lies the corrupt soul of a racist.

  5. What a fucking abortion. This should be shown to schoolkids as a warning of what will happen if you base your whole art career on using photoshop filters instead of developing any handskills.

  6. Thanks Eelus! Well done comrade! By the way, do you mind if we can use the image for this months advertisement in the Ku Klux Klan monthly?

  7. it's a constant source of amusement for me when you see these stencil shunters try and do a part of their piece without the safety net of a cut out card.

It becomes perfectly clear they have all the drawing skills of a teenager and usually the imagination to match. In this case even with the card Eelus falls down on every level even if you did overlook the huge clanger of racial stereotyping.

The one that makes me laugh hardest is when people describe Nick Walker as a "master of the can" when without a stencil he can only do the same stock cap random gaseous mess to simulate anything from shadow, smoke and light aura.

Seriously guys if you cant do it, dont. Or better still learn to draw and compose an image.

  8. just read Eelus is doing no more stencils and will be concentrating on painting with a brush.

If those flames are indicative of his freehand skills god knows the abortions that are due to follow. That said he'll probably get a projector and a paint by numbers kit and I predict a lot of bland simple portraits with some terrible "urban" embellishemnts.

  9. This reminds me of the Black and White Minstrel Show....

What an age we live in where someone can be known internatonally as a successful artist for many years before deciding to learning how to BE an artist....

It's a little like practising as a doctor for a few years and then deciding to learn something about anatomy.... but obviously not as health threatening, unless you've invested heavily in his work.

  10. Seems like this blog got to Eelus so bad that he had to hastily invent an epiphany in the African jungle where he decided to renounce stencils. It must be difficult for an expert shit peddler who's been winging it for years when they realise the game's finally up. Reminds me of that moment where Ceausescu was on the balcony and suddenly realised that the crowd had turned against him.

  11. Banksy's fame and the apple macintosh computer are responsible for a lot of "art" by people who have never learnt to draw

(and of course the whole conceptial art movement and photography freed "artists" from having to put in the hours learning their craft too, but I think, as we're talking about "street art", we need only blame the first two things on my list)

just realised I'm covered in sick. got to go change my shirt
