Banksy 'Walking the Haring' Getting Removed

As if by magic it's gone. To be seen on an auction site near you soon.

  1. I saw this photo and got excited, as I like to paint on wood spots like that (broken windows don't get boarded up in Berlin, they get replaced)

but it's just a photo of greed and stupidity. I hope the builders are charging a shit load of cash for their work!

hey, I just thought. Imagine that, on the other side of the wall is the guys front room, and he's just having the section of wall rotated so that he has the Banksy on the inside, next to the tv (and we get his bad taste in wallpaper on the outside)
    now that would be cool!

  2. Hello there,

I just want to add to this thread, as I own the building on Grange Road.

Firstly, let me start by saying that I have the greatest respect for Banksy, being an artist myself and feel a huge sense of responsibility that he has chosen my wall.

In order to preserve his work, I had to act quickly to save it from ruin and from the local authority removing it, as they have done in the past.

I am motivated to protect it so that both this and future generations are able to enjoy it in the same form as it was created. We need people like Banksy to have freedom of expression through art.

To that end, we will endeavour to facilitate making it available to the public as soon as possible without the threat of further ruin or removal. I am in the fortunate position to be able to offer this to the public in my upcoming art gallery, which is due to be built on the site, and we will do our utmost to safeguard it until then.

In our view, the best way to honour Banksy will be by preserving his work in the original form, so that future generations can enjoy it as much as we can now.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me on:

    Many thanks

  3. odd how he often manages to accidently hit spots that are owned by people in the art world, what a coincidence!
