Don't Sign this Petition

http://www.petitiononline.com/PremROA/petition.html

'We petition Hackney council to respect the cultural importance of street art in Hackney and specifically to protect the giant rabbit mural, painted by internationally renowned artist ROA on the wall of the Premises studios and café in Hackney Road.'

Instead of worrying about a fucking rabbit, make Hackney a nicer place by getting the fake spec wearing twats off it's streets

  2. Those fake spectacle wearing twats love this piece because it reminds them of the cute fluffy animals from the Beatrix Potter books they used to read during their idyllic upper-middle class home counties childhood's. They're all going mental on the comment section on that petition. Some really laughable stuff on there such as one person saying that this rabbit is "on a par with anything in Tate Modern"!

Although I will admit this is one of Roa's technically better works. Often his animals are so incorrectly proportioned anatomically that they're excruciatingly painful to look at. But it seems size is so much more important than content in street art. Something can be as bland as boiled cabbage, but needs only to be really massive in scale to send the visually illiterate hordes and their leader Lord Vandalog into convulsions of ecstatic rhapsody.

  3. how about worrying about kids stabbing and shooting each other in Hackney, rather than one of a thousand black and white animals Roa has painted? surely that is way more important. fucking ignorant dickheads.

kids worldwide are more important than any street art

stop press: Roa just painted another piece just now. An animal. In black and white. So don't worry Hackney Dickheads, Roa pieces are like buses, they'll be another along in a few minutes...

  4. oh, and before I have to deal with emails from Roa (like I had to from Mighty Mo) I'm not dissing his pieces. I quite like them. I'm just easily bored when people go crazy about any art which is always the same thing, over and over. Even more so when every different city in the world gets the same treatment. Every city is different, and artist should respect that a little more.

my post is about how there are more important things to worry about than paint on walls. street art isn't supposed to be permanent, that's part of it's beauty.

  5. Perhaps Mo would like to comment on here whether a street piece should at least be dry prior to releasing a canvas of the same image?

  6. easy now. at least he painted the street piece. most so called "street artists" wouldn't have. Mo paints a lot in the streets - he doesn't just drop the occasional stencil as a way to claim he's "real".

ah shit. he'll read this and misunderstand it and think I'm dissing him again, just like he thought my last comment was an attack and not the defense of him that it was.

kids these days need to read more books, so they can actually understand the shit they see posted on blogs, instead of being offended by every comment which isn't the word "AWESOME"

    read more books kids!!!

  7. dont be silly Dr Funky...Mo is probably saving his rude bwoy persona to dave the chimp, because at least Dave has the guts to say what he wants publically.

But then again Mo will probably release his email as a screenprint
