‘A’ – Steve More & Remi/Rough @ Blackall Studios, London
Show coming up shortly, the works look suited to the walls of the 'empty headed but fat walleted minions of the pat on the back for liking images I have no understanding of brigade' , of which I hear there are just enough.
Shouty whining annoying hip-hop gnome making vomit-inducing pictures of 80's shell suits and duvet covers, then using frantically trying to cover up his lack of talent or imagination by using pretentious psychobabble to pretend they mean something.
can I stand at the front of the photo so I look taller please?
piss taking aside though, what the fuck is "urban abstract"? it's exactly the same as abstract art, except they added the word "urban" to make it more google-friendly.
I call this kind of art "trying to be" art, meaning that if I try and make it look like art that already exists then people will think it is art, rather than pushing to new places to see where we can take things. I mean, surely that was what abstract art was all about in the first place, boldly going where no art had been before...
Remi's been counting down to launch of the inevitable same old thing he's been doing for over decade and still he doesn't get the respect he so desperately craves.
P.S Remi, try insisting that all photographers use a fisheye lens for your futue posing oppertunities to get the appropriate grossly warped perspective properties that would compliment your distorted sense of self importance.
Remi Forward Slash Rough Why ?
