Chris Stain and Billy Mode 'For Martha'

Done for a Carmicheal Show regarding Martha Cooper , nice enough piece, although I always struggle with Chris's work. Shame work like this is done for a show and not just because.

  1. I cant stand that. Graffiti on trains should never be replicated as a stencil especially for a fucking gallery show. It's like writing a koran in pig blood and getting G W Bush to write a recommendation on the back.

  2. The piece is freehand, only the train is stenciled. Nice meeting of styles.

  3. I can see the piece is freehand but why the fuck do it on a stencilled train? Why not paint the whole thing? Then at least it wouldn't look like it was created by a dull robotic printer and have some sort of humanity to it.

  4. Also, it's promoting a gallery show on the exact other side of the country, so it's not like Elbow-toe and Skewville coming to London and plastering stuff around 7 days before a show up the block.

  7. sounds like one of the gallery staff is on here making excuses. Shit image. Shit stencils. Still an advert and it's still shit.

Breaking rules? Looks like another case of dancing for pennies for the amusement of the wealthy.
