New Banksy in LA - Update

The stencil's good, the piece is what it is. Another play on the kids we're creating in today's society. He's said it before and he'll probably say it again. (Every Banksy clone out there has said it a million times too). The platform of publicity the Oscars gives him, could have been better utilised and maybe it will be?

from here

UPDATE: this in on the back of an urban outfitters store - it just gets better

  1. Meh. Could be any one of his legion of clones.

LET is doing almost the exact same kiddy scribbling shit too.

  2. Oh no, just when you start to think the Banksy hype machine had mercifully started to subside, it suddenly flares up again like a festering genital wart.

  3. It's a marketing reach-around to Urban Outfitters for selling so many copies of his book. Classy. Even YOU bought it. He's won over the biggest cynic in the game; Wow! The piece is on the back of Urban Outfitters right outside the UCLA campus gates; rich young american little shits with disposable income. God help us all.

  4. How could you let this go by?

"Early this morning actress Lauren Conrad (The Hills) was the first to spot and tweet out one of the new Banksy street pieces - the Crayon Boy."

  5. You all are so angry and bitter, as you sit back and criticise.

  6. Go to .info if all you want to read is praise.

You get banned for even thinking negative thoughts there.

  7. Fucking ugly, badly composed and positioned and with no clear concept. It just looks wrong and a child that size could barely pick up a M60 that weighs over 10kg without the ammo, let alone aim and fire it upwards.

And the Banksy hype machine arm of the company whoring it round to celebs so they can go see and blab about it to all their other cunty peers and hangers on is just puke inducing.

  8. I second that

why does the gun have crayons as bullets? do the bullets draw crappy flowers when fired? wouldn't it be better if the kid was scribbling over a picture of a gun? I don't really understand what this is supposed to be, it's just a stupid idea for an image (replacing bullets with crayons) and no better than putting Batman's mask on an old photo a la MBW.

and is the fact it's pointing at a No Parking sign relevant? or just an accident of bad placement?

I have no problem with Banksy, but the things I've seen from him this year are weak in the extreme. Has he gone on holiday and left Paul in charge of the shop?

And Funky, when you say "the stencil's good" do you mean the design/image, or the stencil is good technically? because it ain't nothing special in either case mate.

GOD DAMN IT! Banksy just made me waste five minutes of my time! CUNT!!!
