all gearing up to see something a little different from Goldie and this is what we get, different, about as different as one politician to another
here's Zac Walsh's flyer image
standout piece for me is by Matt Small,
can't say this is the greatest show ever (okay it's like a load of other average group shows by middle rung street art talent)
Average is about all you could hope to expect form such a low-rent group of artists.
ReplyDeleteMatt's work is certainly the star of the show and I'm also finding Zac Walsh's work to be pretty interesting.
David Fucking Walker. Grrr.
Low rent. he he. thats not exactly accurate, there was henriji pries who's featured in the forthcoming saatchi show 'British art now'. Jon Braley who's just got through to the second round for the John Moores painting prize. with the likes of Dan Baldwin, who had a piece go for auction at £25000 last year. the list goes on. These are also great people who came together to create something very special in aid of a great charity. I suppose if your understanding of art is limited by one style well then this show wouldn't be for you.
ReplyDelete'Geisha Arts does it right'

ReplyDeleteI'm going to start using that as put down
my taste is limited to what is shit and what isn't
David 'I'm Nick's brother (not) portrait intensive, paint drippy, dull as cold November day in Bedford' Walker
ReplyDeletePremier league? Deffo Blue Square division for these lot. Remembered in 5 years? Hell, I've forgotten about them already!
ReplyDeleteGeisha - remembered for hanging a show in a cafe and then loosing interest in it. The poor artist had to come and pick up the damaged work halfway through the show.
ReplyDeleteShame on you Geisha!
Matt Small - churns out the exact same thing year after year and manages to be described as a 'cool bloke' yet he's probably one of the most arrogant artists on the scene.
