this is enough to give your kids nightmares for years

  1. Something very similar to this was shown at MuTate Britain a couple of years back, but with barbed wire on it....by War Boutique I think

He also took their 'Metropolitan Peace' badge and used it at the Bristol show on the cop, without asking them or crediting them and so passed it off as his own work.

    Not nice.

Also he was caught on camera making his 'woman having a nasty accident' piece in 'Brute On' Street, it's definitely by him.

    Yet another own goal.

People having nasty accidents seem to be a bit of a theme lately, you would think he'd be a bit more careful after what 'happened' to Robbo if he had any sense.

A lot of people aren't scared by his tactics any more it just makes them even more methodical, tactically shrewd and determined and gives them yet more circumstantial evidence to collate, back up and enlighten the world with.

  3. "No its wasnt... this is a copy of a piece by Giles Walker and Peter Dunne..."

Could you post a link to a picture to prove what your saying. It might be more helpful than just saying it and then trying to pimp your shit.

  5. Don't know about the origin of this one, but Banksy does scour the underground culture and obscure artists for ideas to commercialise. I'd say probably 90% of what he does is a copy of something else. He's like a parody X-factor version of street art...constantly doing weak cover versions for idiots who are too stupid to have even heard of the original.

  6. All street artists have to accept that at some point Banksy is going to steal their ideas and pass them off as his own. It's the price you have to pay for being in the game. Just like posh boys at boarding school have to accept that at some point they're going to have to bite the pillow. It's one of those inevitable facts of life I'm afraid.

  7. Sally Starbright (ex mental home resident) was doing this kind of thing down Scrubs lane in 1982 and probably hundreds before her.

  8. Here are some photos of the piece "DOING LIFE" by Giles Walker and Pete Dunne ( a collaboration aka 'Suburban Art'). It was shown at Mutate Britain a few years ago.

  9. Yep, that's the tried and tested Banksy modus operandi right there...see something clever by a lesser known artist, wait about a year until it's gone off the radar, make a few minor tweaks and then present the idea as his own.
