Visit Bethlehem today and taxi drivers vie to take tourists on a 'Banksy tour'. Banksy and 13 top international street artists joined Palestinian artists to put Bethlehem back on the map.
Just in time for Christmas, Pictures on Walls then transported its annual Santa's Ghetto -- a ‘squat art concept store’ -- to Manger Square, in beleaguered Bethlehem.
In addition to stencilling and plastering the city's walls with brilliant artwork, and Israel's illegal separation wall with massive murals, these 14 artists sold their art in this former fast-food restaurant to raise over $1 million for local charities. If you didn't make it in person to Bethlehem, now's your chance to see some of the artwork for yourself.
This exhibition, which coincides with our launch of William Parry's, Against the Wall: the art of resistance in Palestine, features prints from this book, alongside original artwork by renowned street artists Antony Micallef, Sam3, Ericailcane, Blu, Faile, Gee Vaucher, Peter Kennard, Cat Picton Phillips and (tbc) Banksy.
